Wintergreen Oil

Scientific Name: Gaultheria frangrantissima

Origin: Nepal

Uses: Minty and refreshing, wintergreen oil is an uplifting and renewing oil and great for boosting alertness. It is also perfect for post-workout sore muscles. It is a super-oil for reducing inflammation, relieving pain and soothing upset stomachs.

Suggested Uses:  Make a post-workout massage oil using wintergreen oil and lavender oil in coconut oil as a carrier. Massage onto sore muscles. Have a tension headache or need a mid-day pick me up? Keep a roller ball of 10 drops of Wintergreen oil and 10 ml of a carrier oil and roll onto your temples and at the base of your neck when you need it. Wintergreen is also helpful for menstrual cramps. Another idea for a midday pick up is to put a few drops in a cup of hot water to make a wintergreen “tea.” Hold the mug close to your face and inhale deeply. Before you even drink it you will be feeling refreshed!
