Scientific Name: Cinnamomum zeylanicum (Ceylon or “true cinnamon”)
Origin: Sri Lanka
Uses: Depending on the part of the tree harvested, Cinnamon can have different therapeutic properties. The cinnamon oil we carry is cinnamon bark oil, where cinnamaldehyde has a stronger presence. Cinnamon itself scores high on the ORAC scale and its oil, a potent concentrated form of that substance, can be used for a variety of health issues, such as helping to support healthy cholesterol and helping to support normal blood sugar and blood pressure levels. It also has strong germ-destroying properties.
Suggested Usage: Make a natural antimicrobial mouthwash using a few drops of cinnamon oil in water. Ease achy joints by mixing with a carrier oil and massaging directly onto the joint. Augment your current medication regimen by taking a daily dose of 2-3 drops in a capsule or a few drops in your tea or coffee.
