Patchouli Oil

Scientific name:  Pogostemon cablin

Origin: Tropical regions in Asia

Uses: Patchouli is most often utilized for its scent. A musky earthy odor, it was popularized during the 70’s hippie movement. Because it plays well with other scents it is often used in combination with other oils for aromatherapy and is pervasive in the perfume industry. This oil has a variety of uses from improving skin tone to soothing cuts and scrapes to relaxing mind, body, and spirit.

Suggested Uses:  Make your own bug repellant adding a few drops to your lotion or by combining patchouli oil with grapefruit oil, cedarwood oil, and/or lavender oil for a bug repellant spray. MIx in a carrier oil and store in a cool dark place.
